Building Inspector
The Town of Somerset requires owners to obtain a permit prior to changing almost any part of a property if the change has a real value of $2,000 or more. Permit fees vary. Please refer to the 2008 Building Permit Fees schedule or contact the building inspector.Somerset contracts with a licensed inspector to provide all services required for building in our community. The Brian Wert Inspection Agency has a complete web site with most forms and permits available online for both the Town and Village.
Required permits include: New Homes, Storage Sheds, Alterations, Porchs, Decks, Garages, Electrical, Commercial/Industrial, Additions, Pools, Moving a House, Repairs, Fireplaces.
Please contact the building inspector before beginning your project to inquire about required permits.
You must also complete and return the Wisconsin Uniform Building Permit Application (word format, pdf) to the building inspector.
